A Dr. Shu Collaborative Design
The Pupu Gyroball is an exercise tool for your arms.
I worked with my husband, a physiotherapist specializing in repetitive stress injuries, to create a product that's both cute and functional in design. We hope it helps people build stronger hands, wrists, and arms!
The Pupu Gyroball
It makes your hands and arms stronger so you can keep using them with confidence. Lighter and slower spins are great for warmups before activity, and gentle enough to use while you are recovering, as long as your clinician says it is okay. You can also simply use it like a toy for enjoyment.
- Ergonomic cute silicone cover
- Color shows difficulty in real time
- No batteries or buttons needed
What our customers say.
Testimonials from absolutely "real" customers.

great.

Holding a wok used to bug my wrist. Way happier now!

ok so my friend (also an artist) would NOT stop talking about this thing so i caved and got one. first of all?? adorable. it lives on my desk now and i fidget with it constantly! took me a hot minute to get the spin going ngl, i was struggling, but it clicked after a few tries and now it's basically muscle memory. GUYS i can spin green for 28 seconds before my arm gives out, we are improving!! my hands get a real workout and honestly it's become the little ritual i do every day. obsessed. telling everyone i know.
Three step plan:
Learn it
Read "How to start the wrist ball" on the pamphlet included in the box. We also have video guides on our website and social links. Build correct muscle memory by staying at the blue-green level and focus on maintaining a steady spin with a comfortable but firm grip.
Progress
Once you can tolerate spinning at blue level for 1 minute uninterrupted, you are ready to progress to green for 1 minute. It is actually challenging if your arms are not conditioned yet, so you may need to take breaks. Respect the pain and don't hurt yourself.
Consistency
We recommend using it at least 3x a week for results, up to every day as needed. Blue and green spinning are gentle levels that work well for warmups and for conditioning that supports wrist-heavy activities like calisthenics and playing instruments. Red and beyond are really challenging and will build endurance for your tendons and muscles. Just don't push too far too fast.
If you are recovering from an injury or surgery and working with a professional, please consult them about use.
Cute and unique design
What makes Pupu different.
A silicone cover that helps with grip and use
The soft seal-shaped cover gives you a firmer, more secure grip on the ball than a bare plastic shell. Less slipping, more control.
Grip it the way that feels best
Pupu's shape gives you more than one natural way to hold it, so you can find the grip that is most comfortable for your hand.
Shift the challenge where you want it
The raised head lets you place a specific finger higher on the ball, shifting more of the effort onto it just by changing where you grip.
Five colors. You always know how hard you are working.
The light changes color as you spin faster. The color shows your difficulty level, so you and your clinician can see your progress.
Questions about the Pupu Gyroball
What is the Pupu Gyroball?
The Pupu Gyroball is a gyroscopic wrist exerciser. You spin a weighted rotor inside the ball, and the resistance works the muscles in your hands, wrists, and forearms. It has a soft seal shaped silicone cover that gives you a firmer, more secure grip than a bare plastic shell, and the light changes color as you spin faster so you can see how hard you are working.
Who is the Pupu Gyroball for?
It was designed with a physical therapist for artists, illustrators, musicians, and anyone whose hands and wrists take a lot of repetitive use. It is built to help strengthen and condition the hands, wrists, and forearms.
How do I use it to strengthen my wrists for drawing or playing an instrument?
Start slow at the blue and green levels to build steady control, then work up as your arms get more conditioned. Using it a few times a week is a simple way to keep your hands, wrists, and forearms strong for wrist heavy activities like drawing and playing instruments. If you are recovering from an injury, check with your clinician first.
What makes the seal cover different from a regular gyroball?
The soft seal shaped cover gives you a firmer, more secure grip with less slipping. Its shape gives you more than one natural way to hold it, so you can find what feels best for your hand. The raised head also lets you place a specific finger higher on the ball, which shifts more of the effort onto that finger just by changing where you grip.
Does it need batteries?
No. The Pupu Gyroball is fully manual. You start the spin yourself with a flick of the wrist. There are no batteries, no buttons, and no strings needed.
What do the colors mean?
The light changes color as the rotor speeds up. Blue and green are the gentler levels, good for learning the motion and for warmups. Red and beyond are more challenging and build more endurance. The color lets you and your clinician see your progress at a glance.
How much is it and who ships it?
The Pupu Gyroball is $35 and it is a limited first run. It is sold and shipped by Shubaobao Art.
